This episode is all about DIGESTION (16:50)

How does digestion work…when it’s working right? (22:03)

How to improve your digestion (38:40):

1. Sit down to eat & pause before eating to relax. 2. Chew your food! 3. Take breaks when eating. 4. Increase stomach acid (drink some lemon water or apple cider vinegar tonic before meals or use an HCL supplement – of course with the help of a practitioner!) See below for two recipes! 5. Stop drinking a lot during meals. 6. Avoid gut irritants 7. Eat probiotic foods

Apple Cider Vinegar Lemon Elixir USE: To jumpstart digestive juices in the stomach.

8 oz. room temperature water, filtered 1-2 tbsp Braggs raw apple cider vinegar 1-2 tbsp lemon juice, fresh squeezed

DIRECTIONS Mix in a drink and drink the morning upon waking, 10-20 mins before breakfast

Ginger Pickle (recipe from Megan at Ginger Newtrition) USE: To jumpstart digestive juices in the stomach.

Ginger root 1 Lemon, freshly juiced ½ tsp sea salt

DIRECTIONS Shred ginger, finely ground, into a bowl. Add lemon juice and sea salt and mix well. Keep in fridge and it will create a pickle!

Right before a meal, please ½-1 tsp of the ginger pickle in your mouth and chew it for a while to get all the digestive juices flowing. This will help train your body and stomach to start making stomach acid. Your body will slowly increase it’s own ability to make stomach acid.
