Welcome to the Ladies Dish IN THIS EPISODE

Updates:

• Joy’s back from vacation in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Great food, lots of adventuring and even better --- no acne breakouts! (Most likely thanks to plenty of sunshine, low stress, lots of sleep!) • Update on Kate’s pregnancy – she’s 14 weeks and hitting her 2nd trimester in stride!

The “It” List (12:01)

Kate is really into and excited about the Desire Map 2017 Planner!

LDP's Sponsor - The Nutritional Therapy Association The NTA is an amazing organization that certified all three LDP co-hosts as Nutritional Therapy Consultants. Listener Questions

1. Everyone talks about the importance of having a "niche" or main specialty, and while I totally get why that's important, I feel really unsure about what my focus should be. I do know my reasons for getting into this whole holistic lifestyle to begin with, so I guess that's a good place to start. Do you think it's important to just try different things and know that they won't all work out? Did you write goals for the 1st year of business or anything like that? I need to get better about using a planner, goal writing, journaling etc. Maybe it would help me to focus 🙂

Also, I'd love to know if you have any recommendations for business tools that you love. Who do you use for business insurance, etc? (15:13)

Insurance Recommendation: Alternative Balance Liability Insurance - super affordable insurance for fitness and health professionals

Business tools we love: Website building: Wix or SquareSpace. Joy uses WordPress but doesn’t recommend it for someone just starting out.

Invoicing/Payments: Paypal

Photo + Graphic Design: Canva, Picmonkey, Photoshop

Stock Photos: Pixabay (free), Logomakr (free with credit), HauteChocolate.ca (paid) Remember to ALWAYS give credit for photo source if required.

ENewsletters: Mailchimp

Phone: Google Voice

Affiliate marketing on website: Amazon Store

Business Podcasts: Amy Porterfield, Build a Badass Business

Online Business Classes: Obsessed by Melissa Cassera & BSchool with Marie Forleo

2. On this week's episode you talked about "finding a tribe" in making healthy habit changes. What do you think is the best way to find them in real life? I am a part of many online communities but I don't know many people who follow a holistic lifestyle like I do. (41:05)

Look for places that people who share your same values would be -- chances are you are probably going there yourself already. Maybe a chiropractor’s office, WAPF meeting, farmer’s market, holistic grocery store.

People who are physically active are naturally more inclined to be interested in the food they are eating as well - and other healthy lifestyle habits or hacks.

Making friends as an adult is difficult!! It takes time and usually means you have to go a bit out of your comfort zone, too! If you find someone you’re attracted to - as a friend - don’t be afraid to ask to meet up sometime. And try not to stress about it - if you’re putting yourself out there, you’ll find your people. Also I think the word tribe gives the image of having a large group of people. But you don’t need that. Even one or two good friends is enough to increase your healthy and happiness ratio in your day to day life.
