“Although time seems to fly, it never travels faster than one day at a time. Each day is a new opportunity to live your life to the fullest. In each waking day, you will find scores of blessings and opportunities for positive change. Do not let your TODAY be stolen by the unchangeable past or the indefinite future! Today is a new day!” ― Steve Maraboli, Life, the Truth, and Being Free
Do you ever feel like you seem to rush ahead of yourself? Like you completely miss what is happening in front of you because you are thinking about the next hour, or project, or meeting, or trip?
Sheesh, I get caught up in this A LOT but a few things have really helped recently.
#1. Meditation - as I've talked about in previous Monday Mantra posts. Meditation has helped me pull myself back into the present moment whenever those feelings start to take over.
#2. This mantra: One day at a time. I have said it to myself an awful lot recently, and I've had friends remind me of it...and I love it! Because it's true. You can only go one day, even one MOMENT, at a time. There's really no sense in getting too far ahead.
As you go through this next week, come back to this mantra. One day at a time.
You'll get there and whatever you are worrying about will come [or maybe it won't] so it's not worth spending energy on anyway :)
